Teaching Methodology
My teaching methodology is well-structured and progressive, focusing on building a solid foundation and gradually increasing the complexity of the material. Here's a breakdown of my approach:
-
Basic Introduction: Starting with fundamental elements like Body Movement, hand posture, and some simple exercises ensures that your students develop proper technique from the outset, which is crucial for mastering the instrument.
-
Gradual Complexity: Introducing easy compositions and rhythmic patterns initially allows students to build confidence and a sense of rhythm. Gradually adding songs helps keep things engaging and introduces musicality early in their learning.
-
Intermediate and Advanced Focus: Moving on to intermediate compositions and variations which provide depth to student's learning. It allows students to develop more advanced skills, preparing them for more complex musical expression.
-
Exam Preparation: Offering guidance for Kathak exams organized by Prayag Sangeet Samiti is a great way to give students clear goals and officially recognize their skills. It also helps them prepare for formal assessments, which can be valuable for their overall growth.
My methodology strikes a balance between technique, creativity, and progress, ensuring that students develop both technical proficiency and musical expression.
